So I saw some random post about this game online, thought it looked cool, and dropped a dollar on it. It’s a side-scrolling parkour runner where you control this dude in a hoodie who’s apparently being chased by some shadowy figures. The whole point is to jump, slide, flip, and climb your way through levels without eating concrete. I’ve been playing it for three days on my Samsung Galaxy S23 and honestly, the animations are really smooth. Like, surprisingly fluid for a mobile game. The character moves exactly how you’d expect someone actually doing parkour would move. But here’s the thing — the learning curve is steeper than I expected. I almost deleted it after twenty minutes because I kept failing the same jump over and over. My coffee got cold. I was not happy.

Features & Highlights

You get a bunch of levels that ramp up in difficulty pretty fast. Each one has its own set of obstacles like boxes, rails, walls, and gaps you need to time perfectly. There’s also a customization system where you can change your character’s outfit and unlock different abilities, though some of the cooler upgrades cost more in-game currency than you’ll earn naturally. I’m still running the default black hoodie because I’m not about to grind for hours just to change a shirt. The controls are simple — swipe up to jump, swipe down to slide, swipe forward to sprint. It sounds easy. It is not. There’s also a leaderboard system if you’re into comparing scores with strangers. I personally don’t care about that. I care about not throwing my phone across the bus.

User Experience

Here’s where things get mixed for me. The tutorial is fine, I guess. It shows you the basics. But it doesn’t prepare you for the later levels where the timing windows get brutally tight. I was stuck on level 17 for two hours last night. Two hours. I had work the next morning. The controls responded fine on my S23, no lag or weird touch delays. But the checkpoints? Oh boy. If you mess up near the end of a long level, you restart the whole thing. No mid-level saves. That drove me up a wall. The music is decent but repetitive after a while. I ended up muting it and playing my own stuff. The visuals are clean though, nice dark silhouette art style that actually looks good on an OLED screen. But form doesn’t fix function when the game is punishing you for one mistimed swipe.

Pricing

Ninety-nine cents upfront. That’s it. No subscription, no monthly fee, no energy system that forces you to wait. I actually respect that a lot. Too many mobile games try to nickel and dime you with microtransactions. Vector Classic doesn’t do that. You pay once and you get the whole game. There are optional purchases for cosmetic stuff, but you can ignore them completely and still play everything. For a busy person who just wants to play without getting harassed to buy gems every five minutes, this is refreshing. One dollar, no nonsense. The only catch is you don’t get much of a tutorial for that price, but hey, you get what you pay for.

Updates & Support

I tried contacting support because I had a glitch where my character got stuck in a wall on level 22. Sent a message through the app. Got a reply about twelve hours later that basically said “restart the level.” That’s it. No troubleshooting, no apology, no “we’ll look into it.” Just a generic copy-paste response. I restarted the level. It worked. But the whole interaction left me feeling like I was talking to a robot. I get that it’s a small developer, but if you’re charging money for an app, at least pretend to care when someone has an issue. I haven’t seen any update since I downloaded it either. So don’t expect regular patches or new content. What you see is what you get.

Security & Privacy

I checked what permissions this app asks for because I’m paranoid about apps accessing my stuff. Vector Classic only requested storage access, which makes sense for saving your game progress. No camera, no contacts, no location. That’s the bare minimum and I appreciate it. It also doesn’t seem to be serving me ads or tracking my activity across other apps. For a game that costs a dollar and doesn’t have a data-hungry business model, I’m reasonably comfortable with it. Privacy-wise, it’s better than 90% of the free garbage on the Play Store. Just don’t expect a detailed privacy policy beyond the generic boilerplate. If you’re the type who reads every line of those documents, you might be annoyed. I’m not, so whatever.
