SMS Virtual - Receive SMS
How do I use SMS Virtual to receive SMS messages?
Simply open the app, pick a virtual number from the list (like a US or UK number), and use that number for your sign-up or verification. Any SMS sent to that number will appear in your app inbox, usually within seconds.
Can I save a virtual number I like for future use?
Yes, the app includes a favorites system. If you find a number that consistently works for receiving codes, you can star it, making it easy to access again without hunting through the list.
Why did my verification code not arrive, or why was my number rejected?
Sometimes a virtual number is overused by many people, causing services like Discord to reject it. Simply pick a different number from the list and try again—it usually works on the second attempt.
The app shows ads at the bottom of the screen. Can I remove them?
The ad placement is part of the free experience, and there is no option to remove them within the current version. If you find them too intrusive, you might consider using an ad blocker or looking for a paid alternative.
How does SMS Virtual compare to other free SMS receiver apps like TextNow?
SMS Virtual is more focused on temporary, disposable numbers for quick verifications, while TextNow provides a persistent US phone number for calls and texts. SMS Virtual is better for one-time OTPs and sign-ups, but TextNow offers more features like a permanent number and calling.
