About Securitas MyConnect
Securitas MyConnect is designed as a practical tool for monitoring security activity at a property. It is not intended for entertainment or social interaction, but rather for users who need a straightforward way to confirm that security patrols have occurred and that no incidents have been reported. For those managing rental properties or living alone, the app can provide a sense of reassurance by offering a clear record of daily security status. It serves a specific purpose and, within that scope, can be a useful addition to an existing security service.
Features & Highlights
The dashboard is the central feature, displaying whether the property status is “All Quiet” or if an incident has been logged. For example, if a gate is left unlocked, the app shows that it was noted and addressed, eliminating the need for phone calls. Users can also view the weekly security schedule, replacing paper schedules that are easily lost. A button for filing reports is present on the main screen, though its use may vary. A notable omission is the lack of live camera feed integration, which would enhance the sense of oversight for many users.
User Experience
The login process is straightforward, even for users with limited technical experience. However, the interface design is plain and businesslike, with a predominantly blue-and-white color scheme. Navigation can be unintuitive: tapping “Messages” does not lead to alerts, which are instead found under “Activity Feed.” Locating archived reports may require several minutes of exploration. Performance is inconsistent—the app works adequately on a reliable home Wi-Fi connection but can become unresponsive with a slow or spotty network, displaying a loading spinner for extended periods. Notifications are simple and clear, which is a positive aspect.
Pricing
The app itself is free and is included as part of the existing security service subscription. There are no in-app advertisements, which is a welcome feature. If a separate monthly fee were introduced for app access alone, its value would be questionable. As a complimentary add-on, it offers reasonable utility.
Updates & Support
No updates have been observed since initial installation. Support is accessible via a “Help” link at the bottom of the login screen, though the experience may vary depending on the issue. Password recovery and login issues may require some patience.
