First Impression
I saw this app had a high rating on the Google Play Store on my Samsung phone, so I thought I’d give it a try. I like their bags and scarves, and the idea of browsing new styles from my armchair on a Tuesday afternoon sounded lovely. Right from the start, it felt off. The screen was cluttered with too many pictures and banners all moving at different speeds. I just wanted to see what was new, but I felt like I was being shouted at from all sides. It wasn’t inviting or simple. It was busy and a bit overwhelming, which isn’t what I want when I’m trying to relax and shop.
What It Does Well
I will say the product pictures are very nice and clear. When you finally get to look at a single handbag or a pair of earrings, you can zoom in and see the details well. That’s important when you can’t touch the item. I also managed to create an account without too much fuss, which saved my address for later. Once, I got a notification about a sale on tote bags, and the prices shown were indeed good. So, the very basic idea of showing you products and prices is there. It’s just everything around that core function that causes the problems.
Where It Falls Short
This is the big one. The app is slow and buggy on my Galaxy A54. Last weekend, I spent a good twenty minutes trying to filter necklaces by “silver.” Every time I tapped the filter, the screen went blank for a few seconds, then showed me everything again, including gold and rose gold pieces. I gave up. Trying to search is just as bad. I looked for a “blue scarf” and it showed me shoes and wallets. It makes no sense! The worst part is the checkout process. I added a nice wallet to my cart, but when I went to pay, the “Proceed” button just didn’t do anything. I tapped it five times. Nothing. I had to close the app and start over, and then I lost the item from my cart. It’s incredibly frustrating. An app for shopping should make buying things easy, not impossible.
Is It Worth the Price?
The app itself is free, so you aren’t out any money for downloading it. But “worth it” isn’t just about money. It’s about your time and patience. For me, it’s not worth the storage space on my phone or the frustration. I didn’t see any special deals in the app that I couldn’t get on their regular website. In fact, I now just open Chrome on my phone and go to the Parfois website instead. It loads faster, the search works, and I can actually complete a purchase. So why bother with the broken app? I’d say save yourself the hassle.
Developer & Support
I haven’t had to contact support myself, thank goodness, because the app finally worked well enough for me to just look and not buy. But I did what I always do and read the other reviews on the Play Store. It’s not a pretty picture. Lots of people are saying the same things I am—filters broken, app crashing, orders not going through. Some complaints are from months ago. The developer page says they update the app regularly, but if these same big problems keep getting mentioned month after month, it doesn’t feel like they’re listening or fixing the right things. It gives me little confidence that my issue would be solved quickly if I had one.
Privacy & Safety
The app asks for pretty standard permissions, like access to photos (probably to let you share something) and notifications. I always say no to things I don’t think it needs. I did put in my email and address to make an account, and I haven’t gotten any strange emails or noticed anything odd. Their privacy policy is linked, but I’ll be honest, those documents are long and full of legal talk. From a basic safety standpoint, it seems fine for entering payment info, but since I couldn’t even get to the payment screen properly, I can’t fully vouch for that process. My gut says the website is the safer bet for actually spending money.
Can I search for specific items like a blue scarf in the Parfois app?
The app does have a search function, but it often returns irrelevant results. For example, searching for a 'blue scarf' might show you shoes and wallets instead of the item you want.
How well does the product zoom and account creation work in Parfois?
Product images are clear and you can zoom in to see details like stitching on a handbag, which is helpful for online shopping. Creating an account is also straightforward and will save your address for future orders.
Why is the Parfois app so slow and unresponsive on my phone?
Many users report the app is slow and buggy, especially on devices like the Galaxy A54. Filters often cause the screen to go blank or fail to apply correctly, and the checkout button may not respond, forcing you to restart the app and lose your cart.
What can I do if the 'Proceed' button doesn't work during checkout?
If the button is unresponsive, try closing the app completely and reopening it. Unfortunately, you may lose the items in your cart, so it's a good idea to take screenshots of the product details in case you need to add them again.
How does Parfois compare to other fashion accessory apps like Zara or H&M?
While Parfois offers high-quality product photos and good sale notifications, its cluttered layout, slow performance, and buggy search and checkout functions make it far less reliable than competitors like Zara or H&M, which provide smoother navigation and more accurate filtering.
