About MyCam View
MyCam View is a free camera application developed by RDI Technology, designed for basic photo capture and simple editing. It aims to provide an accessible tool for users who want to enhance their snapshots without a steep learning curve. The app offers a range of filters, editing options, and collage features, along with direct sharing to social media platforms like Facebook.
Features & Highlights
The app includes a zoom slider, though image quality degrades noticeably with significant zoom. Filters such as “Warm” and “Cinema” are available, though their effects can be inconsistent—for example, the “Cinema” filter tends to produce overly orange and dark results. Basic editing tools like brightness adjustment and cropping function as expected. The collage feature works adequately for combining multiple photos. A direct Facebook sharing button is a convenient addition for users who frequently post to that platform.
User Experience
The user experience has several notable drawbacks. Upon opening the app, users are often presented with a full-screen advertisement before accessing the camera, which can cause missed photo opportunities. The interface layout feels unintuitive: the button to switch between front and rear cameras is small and placed in an awkward corner. The camera shutter has a noticeable lag, meaning the photo is not captured instantly after pressing the button. Additionally, advertisements appear not only on launch but also after saving a photo, disrupting the workflow.
Pricing
The app is free to download and use, which is its primary financial advantage. However, the cost is offset by a heavy ad load, including banner ads, pop-ups, and video ads after saving images. No option to purchase an ad-free version was found within the app, meaning users must tolerate frequent interruptions to access the features.
Updates & Support
Support options are limited, and the app does not appear to have a clear in-app feedback or help system. User reviews on the Play Store reflect similar frustrations, suggesting that common issues have not been addressed in updates.
