The analog design is clean and minimal, which is exactly what I wanted for my morning classes at the library. I set it up on my iPhone 15 Pro, and it paired fine with my watch. But after about three weeks, I noticed the battery on my watch started draining faster than usual. Like, by 2 PM on a Tuesday, I’d be down to 40% when normally I’d still be at 70%. That made me wonder if the app was the problem or just my watch getting old. I tried contacting support through the app’s email, but it took them four days to reply with a generic “try restarting your watch” message. That was frustrating because I wanted a real answer, not a copy-paste response. Honestly, the look is nice, but the experience left me feeling like I was on my own.

Features Worth Noting

The app has a few things that stand out, especially for someone like me who just wants a clean face with basic info. You can pick from a handful of color themes — I went with a dark gray background and white hands because it matches my style. The complications are useful too. I have the date, step count, and battery level showing on the face, which saves me from swiping around during class. The weather complication is a nice touch, though it sometimes showed the wrong temperature for my campus in Austin, which was weird. The animations when you wake the screen are smooth — like, the second hand sweeps instead of ticking, which makes it feel more premium. I also like that it works on both round and square watches, so my friend with a Samsung watch tried it and said it looked fine. But honestly, for a paid app, I expected more than just a few themes and basic complications. It’s not bad, but it’s not mind-blowing either.

What Needs Work

Here’s where I get a little annoyed. The battery drain issue is the biggest problem for me. I don’t know if it’s the constant animation or the weather updating too often, but my watch was dying way faster. I tried lowering the brightness and turning off some complications, but it didn’t help much. Also, the customization is pretty limited compared to what I saw in the screenshots. The support response was too slow and vague to clarify. For a student on a tight budget, I’d rather not gamble on apps that don’t deliver what they promise. It’s not a total disaster, but I wouldn’t call it reliable.

This app costs $1.99, which is cheaper than most coffee drinks at the campus cafe. For the price, I wasn’t expecting perfection, but I was hoping for something that felt complete. I think $1.99 is fair if you just want a different look for a few weeks, but if you’re hoping to use it every day for months, you might be disappointed. The fact that I had to pay on top of my Apple Watch purchase feels a little stingy, but I get that developers need to make money. I just wish there was a free trial or a lite version so I could test the battery impact before buying. There’s no subscription or hidden fees, so at least that’s honest. Compared to other watch face apps I’ve seen, some are $3-5, so this is on the cheaper end. But cheap doesn’t always mean good value if the features aren’t polished.

Developer Notes

I want to give the developer credit for the design — the face really does look sleek, and I got a few compliments from friends in my study group. But the slow support response and the battery drain issue make me wonder if they’re a small team or just not very responsive. I saw in the app store that the last update was two months ago, so maybe they’re not actively fixing bugs. That’s a red flag for me because if a paid app has a known issue like battery drain, they should address it quickly. I’d love to see a future update where you can adjust the refresh rate of complications or turn off animations to save power. Also, if they could add more customization options — like different hand shapes or a few more color combos — I’d probably keep using it. For now, I’m on the fence about recommending it to other students.

Security & Privacy

I didn’t have to create an account or give them any personal info, which I appreciate as someone who hates spam emails. The app only asks for access to your watch’s sensors for things like step count and heart rate. I checked my iPhone’s privacy settings, and it doesn’t seem to be sending data anywhere weird. No weird permissions or tracking requests popped up, so that’s a big plus. I mean, I don’t want a watch face app knowing my location or contacts, and this one doesn’t ask for that. It feels safe to use, at least for now. Just make sure you have a secure lock screen on your watch, because if someone picks it up, they could see your step count or weather — but that’s a general smartwatch thing, not specific to this app.
