About Gudang Tugas
I saw this app had a high rating, so I thought I’d try it on my OnePlus phone. I’ve been using it for a few months now to keep track of things like my pill schedule, calling the grandkids, and when the library books are due. My old method was scraps of paper all over the kitchen counter, so having one list on my phone seemed like a good idea. For the most part, it did help me stop forgetting little things. I remember last Tuesday, I was at the grocery store and it pinged to remind me to pick up more coffee filters. That was a win. But the shine wore off when I ran into a snag that their support just couldn’t seem to understand.
Features & Highlights
It’s got the basics, which is all I really wanted. You tap the plus sign, type your task, and pick a day for it. I like that you can make different lists. I have one for “House,” one for “Appointments,” and one I just call “Remember.” Putting a checkmark next to a finished job feels good. You can set it to beep at you when something is due, which is the main reason I wanted it. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, and that’s usually a good thing in my book. I don’t need to color-code things or attach files. I just need to know what to do and when.
User Experience
Opening the app is simple. There’s no fancy animation or confusing menu. It’s just your list. That part is perfect for someone like me who doesn’t want to fiddle with settings for an hour. Tapping is responsive and everything is big enough to read without my glasses, which is a huge plus. My big complaint is about changing a task. Let’s say I put “Dentist at 2 PM” but it’s actually at 10 AM. I found it really fiddly to edit that time. I’d tap the time, and sometimes the little picker wheel would pop up, other times it wouldn’t. It felt inconsistent and frustrating.
Pricing
It’s free, which is nice. There are no pop-ups asking me to buy a “pro” version, and I haven’t seen any hidden costs. There is a small, thin ad banner at the very bottom of the screen. It’s mostly for other apps or games. It doesn’t make noise or cover up my list, so I can live with it. For a free tool that helps me remember my gardening club meetings, you can’t complain much about a little ad down there.
Updates & Support
This is where my rating really dropped. I had that problem with editing task times. I looked all through the app for a “help” section but couldn’t find one. Eventually, I found an email address for support on the app’s page in the Play Store. I wrote them a clear email explaining my OnePlus 11 phone and exactly what was happening with the time picker. I got an automated reply saying they’d get back to me. A full week later, I got a real response. It was a generic paragraph telling me to “clear the app cache” and “make sure my software was updated.” I did those things, but my problem wasn’t fixed. I wrote back explaining it still wasn’t working, and I never heard from them again. That left a very sour taste. If you can’t help me, just say so.
Security & Privacy
I have to be honest, I don’t dig deep into privacy policies. The app asks for permission to send notifications, which makes sense for a reminder app. It doesn’t ask to see my photos or contacts, which I appreciate. My lists are just my boring chores and appointments, so I’m not too worried about someone hacking in to see that I need cat food. But after the support experience, I do wonder about the people behind the app. If they can’t be bothered to help with a simple question, it makes me a little uneasy about what else they might not be bothering with.
How do I create a new task in Gudang Tugas?
Simply tap the plus sign, type in your task, and pick a day for it. You can also organize tasks into different lists like 'House' or 'Appointments' to keep everything tidy.
Can I set reminders for my tasks?
Yes, you can set the app to beep at you when a task is due. It will send a notification to your phone, so you won't forget important things like picking up coffee filters at the store.
Why is it so hard to edit the time on a task?
Some users find the time picker wheel inconsistent—sometimes it pops up, sometimes it doesn't. If you're having trouble, try tapping the time field a couple of times or close and reopen the task to get the wheel to appear.
The app won't let me change a task after I've saved it. What should I do?
Editing a task can be fiddly, but it is possible. Tap the task to open it, then tap the specific field you want to change (like the time). If the picker doesn't show, try restarting the app or checking for updates to fix the bug.
How does Gudang Tugas compare to Todoist?
Gudang Tugas is much simpler and more straightforward than Todoist—it's perfect if you just need basic lists and reminders without extra features like color-coding or file attachments. However, Todoist offers more reliable editing tools and better support if you run into issues.
