About GoraAI
I downloaded GoraAI on a whim before a weekend trip, hoping to make something better than my usual jumble of phone clips. As someone who gets overwhelmed by complex editing apps, I was looking for something straightforward. GoraAI positions itself as a one-stop shop for making photo slideshows and short videos, and after using it for a few projects, I can see it’s built for speed over deep customization.
Features & Highlights
The feature that sold me was the AI editing. I threw in about 20 photos from a hiking trip, selected a “Travel” template, and hit the AI enhance button. It automatically cropped some shots, applied a consistent warm filter, and added smooth transitions between them. It wasn’t perfect—one sunset photo got a bit too orange—but it saved me 20 minutes of fiddling. The music library is decent for a free app; I found a cheerful, acoustic track that fit the outdoorsy vibe without sounding like generic stock music. I also appreciate the text tools. Adding location tags like “Summit View, 10 AM” was simple, and I could pick a font that looked handwritten, which felt more personal than the default options.
User Experience
My real test was creating a birthday video for my niece. The “Celebration” templates were a bit cheesy, but I started with one and swapped out the default graphics. Dragging and dropping clips was intuitive. However, I hit a snag when I tried to trim a specific video clip within the timeline—the controls were a little finicky, and I had to try a few times to get the exact start point. Once I got the hang of it, assembling the final minute-long video took me about 15 minutes. Exporting in 1080p was fast, and the app didn’t watermark my video, which is a huge plus for a free tool. Sharing it directly to Instagram Stories was a one-tap process.
Pricing
GoraAI is completely free to download and use. I haven’t seen any prompts for in-app purchases or subscriptions, which is fantastic. The trade-off, as expected, is ads. You’ll see banner ads at the bottom of the editing screen and a full-screen video ad after you export a project. They’re a bit annoying but not overly intrusive. For the price of watching a 5-second ad, you get a fully functional editor without watermarks, which in my book is absolutely worth it for casual users.
Updates & Support
The app is updated by “Apps Brains” every month or two, usually with bug fixes or a handful of new templates and stickers. I haven’t needed to contact support, but the in-app FAQ covers the basics like how to import media and resolve export issues. It feels like a low-maintenance app that’s being actively kept running, which is all I really need.
Security & Privacy
I downloaded GoraAI from the official Google Play Store. Its privacy policy states that it collects some usage data for analytics and shows personalized ads. During setup, it asks for permission to access your photos/media, which is necessary for the app to function. I didn’t have to create an account, which I always prefer. Just be aware that if you use the “upload your own music” feature, you’re likely giving the app access to your audio files as well. For quick, disposable social media content, I’m comfortable with its data stance, but I wouldn’t use it for sensitive or private videos.
