It’s not a magic bullet, but it has fundamentally changed how we handle field data.

The standout feature for me is the offline mode. My guys are often in basements or on rooftops with zero signal, and they can still pull up a job form, fill it out, and snap photos. The app saves everything locally and pushes it to our account the second it reconnects. I also rely heavily on the digital signature capture. Getting a client’s sign-off on a completed job right on my phone feels professional and eliminates the “I never got that paper” excuse. While the form builder is powerful, I found myself mostly using and tweaking their pre-made templates for things like safety checklists and equipment logs, which saved me a ton of initial setup time.

User Experience

The first week was frustrating, I won’t lie. The interface feels a bit like a desktop program crammed into a phone. I remember trying to add a simple “Notes” field to a form and tapping around for five minutes before finding the right menu. However, once I got past that initial learning curve, things clicked. A real “aha” moment was when I was on-site and realized I’d forgotten to add a field for serial numbers. I was able to duplicate the form, add the field right there in my truck, and send the updated version to my crew before they started the next job. That flexibility is huge. Filling out forms is straightforward, but the behind-the-scenes form creation is where you’ll spend your learning time.

Pricing

The app itself is free to download, but to do anything useful, you need a subscription. They have a few tiers, and I’m on the basic “Professional” plan. It costs about $50 per user per month, which felt steep at first. For my team of three, it’s a real business expense. Is it worth it? For us, yes—when I calculate the hours we used to waste on manual data entry, lost forms, and driving paperwork back to the office, it pays for itself. The free version is essentially just a viewer, so be prepared to pay if you want to create and submit forms.

Updates & Support

I get an update notification every month or so, usually with small bug fixes or minor feature tweaks. I haven’t seen a major overhaul in the UI while I’ve been using it. When I had a billing question, email support got back to me in about a day with a clear answer. For a more complex issue about syncing with Google Drive, I used their in-app chat and the agent was knowledgeable but a bit slow to respond, taking a few hours between messages. They have a decent library of video tutorials, which were my go-to during the setup phase.

Security & Privacy

I downloaded it directly from the Google Play Store. Since we’re capturing client information, signatures, and job site photos, data security is a big concern. GoFormz states that data is encrypted in transit and at rest, which is reassuring. My account has never been compromised. I don’t see any ads within the app itself—you’re paying for it, so that’s expected. The privacy policy is dense, but it clearly states they don’t sell your form data. They act as the processor, and you own the data, which is the critical point for business use.
