My Experience with Find 3D – Match 3D Items

I downloaded this game about five weeks ago, on a Tuesday afternoon while I was waiting for my granddaughter to finish her piano lesson. I’m not what you’d call a gamer, but I saw this app had a high rating and the screenshots looked clear and colorful, so I figured why not try it. I’m glad I did. The idea is simple: you see a pile of 3D objects on a screen, and you have to find the two that match. Tap one, tap the other, and they disappear. It sounds too easy, but it gets tricky fast because the objects are stacked and scattered in ways that hide what you’re looking for. I like that I can play for ten minutes while my tea cools down, or sit for an hour on a rainy Sunday. The graphics really are nice—everything looks like little toys you could pick up. My only complaint at the start was that the tutorial popped up too many times, but once I got past that, the game settled into a nice rhythm. I’ve made it through about 80 levels so far, and I haven’t hit a paywall yet, which is more than I can say for some other games my friends use.

Features Worth Noting

The biggest feature for me is that the game doesn’t rush you. There’s no timer ticking down, no annoying countdown music. You take your time. That matters to me because I don’t have the fastest fingers anymore. I also appreciate the little power-ups they give you now and then—like a “shuffle” button when you get stuck or a “hint” that highlights one matching pair. They don’t come cheap when you run out, but the game gives enough free ones that I haven’t felt forced to buy any. The 3D graphics are genuinely good. I can rotate the pile by swiping, which helps me see behind objects. Last week I was matching things like a tiny blue teapot and a red apple, and the detail was impressive. Another nice touch is the daily challenge. Every day there’s a special level with a reward, and it keeps me coming back. I also like that there’s no loud, obnoxious music. The background tunes are soft and calming, almost like elevator music but in a good way. It doesn’t distract me from my matching.

What Needs Work

It’s not perfect, though. The ads are the main problem. Every few levels, a video ad will play, and sometimes it pops up at the worst moment—right when I’m about to finish a hard level. You can close most of them after five seconds, but one or two forced me to watch the whole thirty seconds. That gets old fast. I understand they need to make money, but there has to be a less annoying way. Also, the game can be a bit confusing when there are too many objects on the screen. Sometimes I tap something and it doesn’t register, or I accidentally tap the wrong item because everything is bunched together. The controls could be more forgiving. And here’s my biggest gripe: the game demands a lot of storage space. I have a Samsung Galaxy A54 with plenty of room, but I noticed my phone slowed down after installing it. I had to delete some old photos to keep things running smoothly. For a puzzle game, it shouldn’t hog that much space.

Pricing

The app is free to download, and I’ve played over a month without spending a penny. The catch is that if you want extra power-ups or to remove ads, they ask for money. There’s a monthly subscription around $4.99 and a one-time purchase for ad removal that’s about $6.99. I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m considering the ad-free version because the interruptions get under my skin. The game also sells coins and booster packs, but I don’t think you need them to finish the levels. I’ve never felt stuck in a way that only money could fix. Compared to other apps I’ve tried, this one is fair. You can have fun without opening your wallet, but if you’re impatient like me, the option to pay for peace is there.

Developer Notes

The developer, Boombox Games LTD, seems to update the game regularly. I’ve seen two updates pop up in the last month. One fixed a bug where the game would freeze on level 34, and another added a bunch of new objects. I appreciate that they’re still working on it because some games get abandoned after launch. I read through the app store reviews to see what others thought, and most people seem happy. The few complaints I saw were about the ads and storage, which matches my experience. The developer usually responds to those reviews, promising to improve things. That gives me some hope they’ll tone down the ads. I haven’t needed to contact their support directly, so I can’t speak to how helpful they are, but the fact they reply to public comments suggests they care at least a little.

Security & Privacy

I’m not the type to worry much about this stuff, but I did check the permissions when I installed it. The app asks for access to your storage and your device’s photos. That bothered me at first because why does a matching game need my photos? I looked it up online and found it’s common for games to save progress that way, but still, it feels unnecessary. The privacy policy is available in the app, and I skimmed it—pretty standard stuff about collecting data for ads and analytics. I didn’t see anything scary, but if you’re private about your data, you might want to think twice. I’ve had no issues with spam or weird behavior, and the app hasn’t tried to send me notifications for things I didn’t ask for. So far, it feels safe enough for me, but I wish they’d explain why they need my photo access.
