Where It Falls Short

My main issue is with the community section. While the idea is great, I found the forums a bit hard to navigate. Posts aren’t sorted in a clear way, and on Saturday morning I saw a few comments that, while not harmful, felt off-topic and weren’t moderated quickly. For an app that feels so safe everywhere else, that space needs a gentler, firmer hand. Also, some features feel a bit bare-bones. The daily reflection notification popped up at a fixed time I couldn’t change, which was during my kid’s soccer practice—not a great moment for quiet reading. A little more customization would go a long way.

This is where my experience wasn’t great. I had a question about resetting the tracker for a hypothetical situation (thinking about how a newcomer might use it). I used the contact form in the app on Monday. I got a generic auto-reply, and then a real reply didn’t come until late Wednesday. It was vague, just linking me to a FAQ page I’d already read. TanukiTech built something wonderful, but if they want it to be a true support system, they need to be better at the actual support part. That slow, unhelpful response left me feeling like if I had a real problem, I’d be on my own.

Privacy & Safety

This was my biggest concern as a parent checking this out. I was relieved. The app doesn’t ask for unnecessary permissions. It didn’t demand access to my contacts, photos, or location (I chose to enter my zip code manually for meetings). Their privacy policy is straightforward, stating they don’t sell user data. The content within the literature and most features is, by its nature, safe and constructive. As I mentioned, the community forum is the only spot where the safety feels a tiny bit less managed, but the core tools themselves are private and secure. I’d feel comfortable with a family member using this app.
