Okay so I’m a college student and my life is basically stress and deadlines. I downloaded this app because I needed something mindless to do while waiting for the bus or between classes. I have a Samsung Galaxy A54 and the game runs fine on it, no lag or crashing or anything. I’m not a big gamer, but bubble shooters are my jam because they’re simple. You just aim colored bubbles at a group of other colored bubbles and try to match three or more so they pop. That’s it. But somehow it doesn’t get boring. There are over a thousand levels so I’ve never run out of stuff to play. I usually play at night when I’m too tired to study but can’t fall asleep yet. It’s a good wind-down thing. The graphics are bright and cheerful which I like. Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

Features & Highlights

There are three different modes – arcade, puzzle, and classic. I mostly stick to classic because I’m old school like that. Arcade gets a bit hectic for my taste with the timer pressure. Puzzle mode is nice when I want to think a little. There are daily rewards which is cool. Like sometimes I’ll open the app just to claim a free booster even if I don’t actually play a full level. The boosters help when you’re stuck on a hard level. There’s one that lets you shoot a bomb bubble and it blows up a big area. That saved me last Tuesday when I was stuck on level 342 for like an hour. I almost threw my phone. The online leaderboard lets you compare scores with random people and friends. I don’t really care about leaderboards though. What I do like is that the game saves your progress automatically so I don’t have to remember anything. It also updates every few weeks with new levels, which keeps it fresh.

User Experience

The controls are easy. You just tap and drag to aim, then release to shoot. Very intuitive. The ads are pretty frequent though, which is annoying. You finish a level and then a 15-second ad plays. Sometimes you have to watch an ad to get a free booster or extra move. I get that it’s a free game but it can be a lot. Once I had to wait through two ads in a row because the first one glitched. That made me mad. On the positive side, the game is really lightweight so it doesn’t eat up my phone storage or battery fast. My Samsung A54 handles it fine even when I have ten other apps running in the background. The colors are nice and the bubble-popping sound is satisfying. It’s not going to win any design awards but it’s straightforward and works. I actually introduced it to my roommate Sarah and now she plays it too during our study breaks in the library. It is addicting so I have to be careful not to play for too long.

Pricing

The app is free to download and play. You don’t have to pay a dime to finish all the levels if you have patience. But there are in-app purchases. You can buy extra boosters, more lives, or remove ads. I’ve never bought anything because I’m a broke student and every penny counts for groceries. The ads are annoying but not unplayable. You can also earn coins by playing and use those to get boosters for free. It takes a little grinding but it’s doable. One thing I noticed is that the game gives you free coins when you first start and then slows down after some levels, probably to tempt you into paying. But I just grind through levels without boosters and it’s fine. I’d say this is one of the fairest free games I’ve used. No forced payments to keep playing.

Updates & Support

I contacted support once because my progress reset after I reinstalled the app. I was pretty mad because I had played like 200 levels. I sent an email through the settings menu on a Thursday night and didn’t hear back until the following Tuesday. That’s almost a week. But when they did reply, the support person was really helpful. They sent me instructions on how to restore my progress using my player ID. It actually worked and I got all my levels back. So the support is good but slow. Don’t expect a quick chat or something. The app gets updated maybe once a month with new levels and occasional bug fixes. I noticed an update around Christmas that added seasonal graphics with snowflakes and stuff. That was cute.

Security & Privacy

I’m not super paranoid about this stuff but I do check permissions. The app asks for access to your storage if you want to save screenshots, and internet connection for ads and leaderboards. That’s it. No camera or microphone nonsense. It didn’t ask for my contacts or location. I feel fine using it. There’s no weird data collection that I can tell. It does show personalized ads based on your activity but that’s typical for free games. If you don’t want that, you could buy the ad-free version. Overall, nothing sketchy here. It behaves like a normal bubble shooter game.
