SWR Aktuell
How can I see only news from my city or region in SWR Aktuell?
Use the regional tagging feature to filter your feed. Just go to the Regions tab in the bottom menu, select your city or area (like Stuttgart), and the app will show you only local news, perfect for a quick morning scroll.
Is there a way to save articles to read later?
Yes, you can save any story by tapping the save icon. Saved articles are collected in the Saved tab, so you can easily remember to check updates about S-Bahn disruptions or museum exhibitions later.
Why do videos sometimes buffer or lose audio sync in the app?
Video playback can be unreliable, especially when you're not on Wi-Fi. If you experience buffering or sound issues, try switching to a stronger connection or restarting the app. Restarting your phone after a fresh update also helps reduce sluggishness.
The app feels slow after an update. What can I do?
This is a known quirk. Simply restart your phone after updating the app, and it usually clears up the sluggishness. Text and images should load fine in the meantime, but a quick reboot is the most reliable fix.
How does SWR Aktuell compare to other local news apps like Tagesschau?
SWR Aktuell focuses specifically on news from Baden-Württemberg and Rheinland-Pfalz, with strong regional tagging and timely breaking alerts for local events like storms. While Tagesschau offers broader national coverage, SWR Aktuell is better if you want hyper-local reporting without flashy extras.
