Reigns
How does the swipe mechanic work in Reigns?
You swipe left or right on royal decisions like taxing peasants or banning the jester. Each choice affects four bars—Church, People, Military, and Treasury—and if any bar hits zero, your reign ends.
Does Reigns have a tutorial or explain how the bars work?
No, the game intentionally has no tutorial. You learn by dying—for example, ignoring the People too long triggers a revolution, or favoring the Church gets you poisoned by your guards.
What happens if I close the app in the middle of a run?
Reigns does not have a save-and-exit feature, so closing the app mid-run will cause you to lose that reign entirely. It's best to finish a quick run before switching apps.
Why did I lose a run from a random event with no good choice?
Sometimes random events force a lose-lose situation where both options drop a bar to zero, ending your reign instantly. This is a known frustration, but the game is designed around short runs, so just start a new ruler.
How does Reigns compare to other mobile strategy games like Plague Inc. or Reigns: Her Majesty?
Unlike Plague Inc.'s complex simulation, Reigns is a quick swipe-based decision game with runs lasting about five minutes. Compared to Reigns: Her Majesty, the original Reigns focuses on medieval monarchy with simpler mechanics and no gender-swapped ruler.
