Pooca
How does Pooca's health tracker work?
You can snap a photo of a vet bill or vaccine record, and the app will automatically pull the date for the next shot and set a reminder. It also sends you notifications so you can book appointments right when you get the alert.
Can I connect with other pet owners in my area on Pooca?
Yes, the app features a local feed where you can see posts from dog owners near you, and you can message them directly. One user was able to arrange a puppy playdate with a neighbor after posting a question about crate training.
Why does the local search show closed businesses, and how can I fix it?
The map data for vets and pet stores isn't always updated in real time, so some pins may list places that are already closed. To avoid this, double-check the business hours by tapping the pin and calling ahead before heading out.
I keep seeing prompts for Pooca Plus. Can I still use the app fully without paying?
Yes, the core features like the health tracker, social feed, and reminders are free to use. The prompts for Pooca Plus are for optional extras, so you can ignore them and still get plenty of value from the app.
How does Pooca compare to a basic pet checklist app like PetFirst?
Unlike PetFirst, which is mostly a manual checklist, Pooca automatically pulls vet appointment dates from photos and connects you with local pet owners for real-time advice. It feels more like a social network built for the messy, real parts of pet ownership rather than just a simple task list.
