About PDF Pro-View PDF

As someone who’s constantly reviewing reports and contracts on the go, I’m always on the lookout for a decent PDF app that doesn’t cost a fortune. I downloaded PDF Pro-View PDF from the Google Play Store a few weeks ago to see if it could replace my usual, more expensive app. It’s developed by the Earn Up Team, and with a 3.4-star rating, I went in with managed expectations—hoping for a functional tool, not a miracle worker.

Features & Highlights

The feature list looks impressive on paper, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many actually worked well. The annotation tools are where I spent most of my time. I could highlight client requests in a contract in bright yellow and add a sticky note with a question for my boss, which was perfect. The merge function saved me last Tuesday when I had to combine three separate price sheets into one document for a vendor email. I also used the search function to find a specific clause in a 50-page terms of service, and it worked instantly, which was a huge relief. While I didn’t need to convert PDFs to Word, having that option tucked away is nice for future projects.

User Experience

Opening the app for the first time, the interface is clean and not cluttered. I imported a PDF from my Google Drive easily. Where I felt the friction was in the text editing; I tried to correct a typo in a proposal, and the process was a bit clunky—the text box resizing was finicky. However, just reading and marking up documents is smooth. Scrolling is fast, and pinch-to-zoom is responsive. I did have one moment of panic when the app stuttered on a particularly large file, but after a few seconds, it loaded. For everyday viewing and light editing, it’s perfectly adequate.

Pricing

The app is free, which is its biggest selling point. You get access to all the core features like viewing, annotating, merging, and cloud integration without a paywall. There are ads, which show up as banners at the bottom of the screen. They’re not overly intrusive during actual document work, but they’re there. I didn’t feel pressured to upgrade to a “pro” version, which was refreshing. For a free tool, it delivers a lot of value.

Updates & Support

Looking at the update history on the Play Store, the Earn Up Team pushes out updates every couple of months, mostly for bug fixes and performance improvements. I haven’t had a reason to contact support personally, but the app has a feedback section within its settings menu. The update frequency suggests the developers haven’t abandoned it, which is more than I can say for some other free apps.

Security & Privacy

I downloaded it directly from the official Google Play Store. The app’s privacy policy, which you can access before installing, states that it collects usage data for analytics and shows personalized ads. For a free app, this is pretty standard. It asks for storage permission to access your PDFs and network access for cloud services. I felt comfortable using it for work documents that weren’t highly sensitive, but I probably wouldn’t use it for confidential financial or legal papers without researching further.
