OpenClaw
How does the location-based alert feature work?
You can set a task, like 'drop off dry cleaning,' to trigger a notification only when you're within a specific distance of that location. This means you won't get reminders at home or work, only when you're close enough to actually do the task.
Can I share lists with other people in real time?
Yes, OpenClaw supports shared lists that update instantly for all members. My roommate and I use a shared apartment list, and it completely stopped the 'I thought you were getting toilet paper' arguments because we both see changes as they happen.
What should I do if the app stops syncing between my phone and laptop?
First, make sure you're logged into the same account on both devices and that your internet connection is stable. If it still doesn't sync, try closing and reopening the app on both devices—this usually forces a fresh sync, and I haven't seen it fail after that.
How do I recover tasks if the app crashes and I lose data?
OpenClaw syncs your data to the cloud automatically, so after a crash, just reopen the app and your tasks should reappear once it reconnects. For extra safety, you can also export your list as a backup file from the settings menu, but I've never needed it because the app has been rock-solid.
How does OpenClaw compare to popular apps like Todoist or TickTick?
OpenClaw is much simpler and faster than those apps—it doesn't pack in social features, gamification, or complex project management tools. If you just need a blazing-fast to-do list that gets out of your way and works reliably, OpenClaw beats them; but if you need advanced features like natural language parsing or habit tracking, you might miss those extras.
