Novella-Novels and Fiction
How do I adjust the text size and background color in Novella?
You can easily make the text larger and switch to a sepia background from the reading screen settings. This is great for reducing eye strain, especially if you find bright white screens uncomfortable.
Can I download stories to read offline?
Yes, you can download stories directly within the app to read offline. This is perfect for times when you don't have internet access, like during a doctor's appointment or a commute.
Why am I getting loud video ads between chapters?
These full-screen video ads appear at the end of chapters and can be disruptive. To minimize them, you can try reading with your phone on silent or consider if an ad-free subscription is offered within the app.
The app keeps showing me stories I don't like in the 'For You' section. What can I do?
The 'For You' section learns from what you read over time. Try reading more of the gentle mysteries or historical tales you enjoy, and the suggestions should gradually improve to match your taste.
How does Novella compare to other free reading apps like Wattpad?
Novella focuses on a cleaner, more straightforward reading experience with fewer menus and a strong emphasis on curated genres like cozy mysteries, while Wattpad has a broader, more community-driven library with comments and forums. Novella's interface feels simpler for older readers, but both are free with ads.
