NBC Connecticut News & Weather

The interactive radar is a standout feature, allowing you to zoom in on your exact street to track storms with impressive precision. It felt more reliable than other free weather apps I've used, especially for timing when rain would start in my neighborhood.

Yes, the app offers solid live streaming of local broadcasts, which I've used while making coffee when I missed the morning show. The video plays smoothly and is a great way to stay informed on the go.

The app does have a fair number of ad pop-ups, including video ads that can interrupt quick checks of the forecast. While there's no built-in ad-free option mentioned, you can minimize annoyance by closing ads promptly or using the app during less time-sensitive moments.

Finding old stories can be tricky because the organization isn't very intuitive. I recommend using the search function or checking the 'News' section rather than scrolling through the main tab, as top stories refresh frequently.

The NBC Connecticut app has a cleaner layout and a more precise interactive radar than many competitors I've tried. However, it can feel cluttered with ads, and its local news coverage leans toward state-wide stories rather than hyper-local county updates, which some other apps handle better.
