About MyFrontier
I’ve been a Frontier internet customer for about two years, and like most people, I dread calling customer service. I downloaded the MyFrontier app hoping it would save me some time, and honestly, it’s done just that. It’s not the flashiest app on my phone, but it consolidates almost everything I need to do—paying bills, checking data, troubleshooting—into one place. It feels like having a mini customer service portal in my pocket, which is exactly what I wanted.
Features & Highlights
The bill pay feature is what I use most. I can see my current statement, review past ones, and pay with a tap. I set up autopay through the app last year, and it’s saved me from a late fee more than once. The data usage tracker is another standout for me. With my internet plan, I need to keep an eye on my monthly cap, and the app gives me a clear, simple graph of how much I’ve used. I also used the “Troubleshoot & Resolve” section when my Wi-Fi dropped last month. It ran a quick diagnostic and actually walked me through resetting my modem remotely, which fixed the issue. Being able to schedule a service appointment directly in the app and get text confirmations is a huge step up from waiting on hold.
User Experience
My first impression was that the home screen felt a bit cluttered, with a lot of tiles and options. It took me a few minutes to find the data usage widget, which was buried under a “Services” menu. However, once I learned where things were, navigation became quicker. A real “aha” moment was when I got a push notification saying my payment was processed. It was simple, but it gave me peace of mind. On the flip side, I’ve had the app freeze twice when switching between my account and the support chat, forcing me to restart it. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it interrupts the flow when you’re trying to get something done quickly.
Pricing
The MyFrontier app itself is completely free to download and use. You just need an active Frontier account to log in. There are no in-app purchases or premium tiers. For what it provides—essentially replacing most calls to customer service—it’s absolutely worth the price of $0. The value is in the convenience it offers to existing customers at no extra cost.
Updates & Support
Looking at the update history in the App Store, the developer pushes out updates every month or two, mostly for bug fixes and performance improvements. I haven’t noticed any major new features from these updates, but the app does feel more stable than when I first downloaded it. As for support, the in-app chat is hit or miss. I used it once for a billing question and got a generic, unhelpful response. For real problems, I still had to call. The FAQ and guides within the app, however, are quite good for solving common technical issues yourself.
Security & Privacy
I downloaded the app directly from the official Apple App Store, which always feels safer. To log in, you use your Frontier account credentials, and the app supports biometric login (Face ID for me), which I immediately enabled. It’s a crucial feature for an app that has my payment information. Frontier’s privacy policy, linked in the app settings, states they collect data necessary for account management and service improvement. I don’t see any third-party ads within the app, which is a relief. It seems my data is used for functional purposes related to my account, not for advertising.
