MaxPreps: High School Sports
How does the live score tracker work on MaxPreps?
You can search for a specific high school and save their team to your favorites. Then, during a game, the app provides real-time score updates so you can follow the action even if you're not there.
Can I get notifications for schedule changes and final scores?
Yes, once you set up notifications for a saved team, the app will automatically alert you to final scores and any schedule changes. It's a hands-free way to stay updated without constantly checking the app.
Why does the app sometimes lag or freeze during busy game times?
On Friday evenings when many games are happening, the app can experience lag or a few seconds of hanging due to high server traffic. It's usually temporary, but refreshing or waiting a moment helps.
How can I reduce the number of ads in the free version?
The free version includes banner ads at the bottom of screens and occasional full-screen ads when switching sections. There's no built-in ad removal option, so you'll have to tolerate them or look for a premium version if one becomes available.
How does MaxPreps compare to ESPN for following high school sports?
MaxPreps is much more focused on high school sports, offering detailed team rosters, season stats, and live scores for local games. ESPN covers high school events too, but its coverage is less comprehensive and often buried under pro and college content.
