Local Weather Alerts - Widget
How does the widget alert me to severe weather?
The widget features a colored alert bar that changes based on conditions: grey for no alert, yellow for a watch, and flashing red for a warning in your specific location. Tapping the widget opens the app with detailed alert information, including the type of warning and time until arrival.
How many locations can I monitor with the app?
The free tier allows you to monitor one location. By upgrading to the one-time Pro purchase, you can monitor up to three specific addresses, such as your home, office, and a family member's house, each as a separate monitoring point.
What should I do if the widget stops updating or stalls on my screen?
This can sometimes happen after a system update. Try the troubleshooting steps provided by support: force close and restart the app, then re-add the widget to your home screen. If the issue persists, contact in-app support for personalized help, which is known to be responsive.
Does the app drain my phone's battery with constant location monitoring?
No, the app is designed to be efficient and set-and-forget. Users report no significant battery drain because it uses precise location access intelligently to provide alerts without constantly running in the foreground.
How does this app's pricing compare to other weather alert services?
Unlike many subscription-based weather services, this app offers a one-time Pro purchase for advanced features, giving you lifetime access. This model is often seen as more valuable for a critical safety tool, providing multiple location monitoring and advanced alerts without recurring fees.
