Le Monde, Live News
What is the live news ticker and how do I use it?
The live news ticker is a standout feature that scrolls breaking headlines in real-time. You can keep 'major alerts' notifications on for truly big stories, so your phone only buzzes for important updates without overwhelming you.
Can I read articles offline with the Le Monde app?
Yes, the offline reading feature lets you save two or three articles while on Wi-Fi to read later, which is perfect for commutes with no signal. Just save them before you lose connection, and they'll be available in your saved articles section.
Why can't I find my saved articles easily in the app?
The navigation relies on a hamburger menu, and saved articles are tucked inside it, which can be confusing at first. Give yourself about a week to learn the layout, and it becomes logical—just tap the menu icon and look for the saved section.
How many articles can I read for free before hitting the paywall?
The app gives you a set number of free articles each month before a paywall appears, limiting further access. To keep reading without a subscription, you can use the offline feature to save articles in advance or focus on the free allowance.
How does Le Monde compare to other news apps like BBC News?
Le Monde offers deeper, less flashy journalism similar to a proper newspaper, without the slideshows or video ads you often see on BBC News. It's ideal for in-depth European politics and history, though BBC News may have a more intuitive layout and broader global coverage.
