As someone who’s always looking for a little extra push to stay active, I gave the Go365 app from Humana a solid try over the last few months. It’s a free wellness program that ties healthy activities to points and rewards. I went in hoping it would be the nudge I needed, and while it did get me moving more, I also ran into a few frustrations that kept it from being a five-star experience. Here’s my deep dive as a real user.
Features & Highlights
The core of Go365 is its activity tracking and rewards system. You connect your fitness tracker (I used my Fitbit) and it automatically pulls in your steps, workouts, and sleep data. I appreciated not having to log everything manually. The app then converts this activity into “Go365 Points.” You can also earn points by completing “Journeys,” which are like little educational modules on topics like nutrition or stress, and by joining weekly challenges against other users.
The big highlight they promote is cashing in those points for rewards. The catalog has things like Amazon gift cards, water bottles, and fitness gear. I found the point requirements pretty high, though. To earn a $10 gift card, I had to consistently hit my goals for nearly two months. It’s a nice bonus, but it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. Another feature I used was setting custom goals beyond steps, like drinking more water or logging my weight, which helped me focus on specific habits.
User Experience
Let’s talk about the day-to-day. On a good day, the app is fine. I’d open it in the morning to see my step count synced and check what challenge was running. There’s a social feed where you can see how friends are doing, which added a bit of friendly competition. However, I had moments where the app felt slow to update, especially after a long walk. One time, a whole day’s cycling data from my tracker didn’t sync until the next afternoon, which was annoying when I was trying to complete a 24-hour challenge.
The interface is functional but not particularly sleek. Finding my total points balance or navigating to the rewards store sometimes took more taps than I felt it should. I also received a lot of generic, “one-size-fits-all” health tips that didn’t feel personalized to my activity data. The experience works, but it lacks the polish and intuitive flow of top-tier fitness apps.
Pricing
The Go365 mobile app itself is completely free to download and use. There’s no subscription fee or premium tier. The “cost” is really your data and your participation. You need to be enrolled in a Humana health plan that offers the Go365 program to fully access the points and rewards. If you’re not a Humana member, you can still download the app but your features will be extremely limited. For eligible members, it’s a free benefit, so it’s worth checking out. Just temper your expectations on the reward payouts.
Updates & Support
During my testing period, the app received one minor update that claimed “bug fixes and performance improvements.” I didn’t notice a dramatic change. As for support, I had to contact them once about a point discrepancy. I used the email support option within the app. The response took about three business days, which is a bit slow, but the agent was polite and eventually resolved my issue by confirming the challenge rules. It wasn’t instant gratification, but it got the job done.
Security & Privacy
I downloaded Go365 directly from the official Apple App Store. Since it’s tied to health insurance, security is a major concern. The app requires a secure login and offers two-factor authentication, which I immediately enabled. In terms of privacy, Humana is clear that your health data is protected under HIPAA. They outline in their privacy policy how your activity data is used to calculate rewards and provide you with health information. It does collect a fair amount of data from connected devices, but it’s for the program’s functionality. I didn’t encounter any intrusive third-party ads within the app itself.
