Focus Dog: Productivity Timer
What are the main features of Focus Dog: Productivity Timer?
The app offers a customizable Pomodoro timer with work and break intervals, a library of ambient sounds, and a gamified progression system featuring a virtual dog. The dog grows and earns new items as you complete focus sessions. All core features are completely free and ad-free.
Can I track my productivity statistics in detail with Focus Dog?
The free version provides only a basic daily bar graph of your focus time. For more advanced analytics, you would need the one-time premium upgrade, which adds more detailed statistics. The app currently lacks features like session tagging, long-term trend analysis, or data export.
I experienced a bug where the timer notification disappeared during a session. Is there a fix?
This was a known bug that appears to have been addressed in a recent update. If you encounter it, ensure your app is updated to the latest version. If the problem persists, restarting your device or reinstalling the app may help.
Does the app sync my tasks or data across different devices?
No, Focus Dog does not currently offer cloud sync. Your task list is local to your device and does not carry over between sessions automatically. This also means switching to a new phone will not transfer your progress or data.
How does Focus Dog compare to other productivity timers like Forest?
Focus Dog is completely free for its core timer and gamification, whereas Forest requires a purchase. Both use a virtual reward system (a dog vs. a growing tree), but Forest offers more robust social features and goal tracking. Focus Dog is better for a simple, fun, and cost-free start to the Pomodoro technique.
