Expedia: Hotels, Flights & Car
How does Expedia's bundle pricing work for booking a flight and hotel together?
When you book a flight and hotel as a bundle in Expedia, you get a real discount—the reviewer saved about $90 on a Chicago trip compared to booking separately. Just search for both together, and the app will show you the combined price with the savings applied upfront.
Can Expedia remember my search preferences like free cancellation and early check-in?
Yes, after a couple of bookings, Expedia starts defaulting to your preferred filters, such as free cancellation and early check-in. This saves you from having to manually set them each time you search for a hotel.
Why do some hotel prices in Expedia jump up at checkout, and how can I avoid this?
Some hotel listings show a base price that doesn't include resort fees or taxes until you reach the checkout screen, which can be frustrating. To avoid surprises, always scroll down to the price breakdown or look for a 'total price' toggle before tapping 'Book'.
What should I do if the Expedia app crashes while I'm browsing flights?
If the app crashes, try force-closing it and reopening—this usually resolves the issue quickly. For a more stable experience, make sure your app is updated to the latest version, and avoid having too many other apps open in the background.
How does Expedia compare to booking directly with airlines or hotel sites?
Expedia often offers cheaper bundle deals when you book a flight and hotel together, saving you money compared to booking separately on airline and hotel sites. However, direct booking may give you more flexible customer service and fewer hidden fees, while Expedia keeps all your itineraries in one place for convenience.
