Edge Lighting - Borderlight
Can I set different edge lighting colors for different apps?
Yes, absolutely. You can assign a unique color from a massive color wheel to each app, so your texts glow blue, calendar alerts pulse red, and calls from specific contacts can even flash in a custom gradient.
Does the edge lighting drain your battery quickly?
Not noticeably. The app includes a battery optimization toggle that we recommend keeping on, and after a week of testing, we didn't observe any unusual battery drain during daily use.
Why isn't the edge lighting showing up when I get a notification?
This usually happens if the app hasn't been granted notification access. Go to your phone's settings, find 'Notification access' under 'Apps & notifications,' and enable it for Edge Lighting - Borderlight.
The edge light keeps turning off after a few seconds. How can I make it last longer?
Check the app's duration settings. You can adjust how long the light stays on after a notification, and for priority contacts, try the 'strobe' animation style to keep the light active until you check your phone.
How does Edge Lighting - Borderlight compare to built-in edge lighting on newer phones?
It's surprisingly comparable and even more customizable. While flagship phones offer edge lighting, this app gives you a wider color wheel, multiple animation styles like 'breathing' and 'strobe,' and the ability to assign different colors per app, making it a strong alternative for older Androids.
