DealDash - Bid & Save Auctions
How does the penny auction system work on DealDash?
You buy packs of bids (like 100 bids for $20) and use them to bid on items. Each bid raises the item's price by one cent and adds a few seconds to the timer; the last person to bid when the timer hits zero wins.
What is the 'Buy It Now' feature and how does it help?
If you lose an auction after placing bids, you can apply the cost of those bids toward purchasing the item at its full retail price through the 'Buy It Now' option. This ensures you never lose your bid money completely.
Why did I lose an auction even though I was the last bidder?
This usually happens because another bidder placed a bid just before the timer hit zero, resetting the clock. The auction only ends when no new bids are placed within the final seconds, so staying until the very last moment is key.
I keep getting outbid instantly. How can I win an auction?
Try bidding on less popular items or at off-peak times when there's less competition. You can also place a single bid early and watch the auction—if no one else jumps in, you might win without a bidding war.
How does DealDash compare to traditional auction sites like eBay?
Unlike eBay's fixed-price or standard auction model, DealDash uses a pay-to-bid system where you spend money on bids even if you lose. However, DealDash offers the 'Buy It Now' safety net, while eBay typically does not refund bidding costs.
