Damascus Int'l Book Fair
How does the interactive map help me find specific publishers or booths?
You can tap on any publisher's name in the exhibitor directory, and the app will instantly show a path to their booth on the interactive map. This was a lifesaver for navigating the huge fairgrounds and saving time.
Can I set reminders for events and book signings?
Yes, you can build a personalized itinerary by adding panels, signings, or other events. The app then sends you a notification 15 minutes before each activity, helping you stay on track even with a packed schedule.
What should I do if the app feels slow or has trouble loading due to poor Wi-Fi?
The app is designed to run smoothly even with spotty Wi-Fi, so try force-closing and reopening it first. If issues persist, check that you have the latest version installed, as offline features like the map and saved itinerary still work without a strong connection.
Why can't I find the right genre when filtering exhibitors, and how can I work around it?
The genre categories can be broad and sometimes miscategorize publishers, which was a common hiccup. To work around this, use the search bar to look up a specific publisher or author by name instead of relying solely on the filter.
How does this app compare to other book fair apps like BookFair Companion?
Unlike BookFair Companion, which often feels like a static PDF, the Damascus Int'l Book Fair app offers a truly interactive map and personalized reminders that adjust to your schedule. It’s more like having a helpful guide in your pocket than a digital brochure.
