Comic Book Price Value Scanner
How does the barcode scanner work for determining comic values?
The barcode scanner is the app's main feature and works quickly even in less-than-ideal lighting. Once you scan a barcode, it displays the cover art, title, and a current estimated market value, which users have found to be accurate for modern books.
Can I track my comic collection and get alerts for price changes?
Yes, the app includes a basic collection tracker to catalog what you own, which is useful for insurance purposes. It also has a wishlist feature that can send push notifications when a price drop is detected on a marketplace, like the one user received for Amazing Spider-Man #300.
What should I do if the app crashes when I try to export my collection list?
This is a known issue that has been reported by users. You can use the contact form in the app's settings to report the crash, and the developers typically work on fixes in future updates based on that feedback.
Why can't I scan older comics from the 80s or 90s, and what can I do instead?
Many older comics don't have barcodes, so the scanner won't work for them. In that case, you need to use the manual search function, though it can be clunky and may not always find the exact issue or variant you're looking for.
How does this app compare to manually checking eBay sold listings for comic values?
The app is much faster than manually searching eBay, especially for modern books with barcodes, giving you instant values in seconds. However, for older comics without barcodes, the manual search can be less reliable, so eBay might still be better for those specific titles.
