How does the barcode scanner work for adding cards?
The barcode scanner lets you quickly add cards by scanning the barcode on booster packs or card packaging. It saves you from manually typing in card names, and we found it works great for recent Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon sets.
Can I track the condition of my cards in the app?
Yes, Collectr includes a condition tracker that lets you note specific details like edge nicks or surface wear. This is especially useful for remembering the state of your cards when trading or selling.
Why can’t I find a card when I search for its full name?
Try typing just part of the card name instead of the full name. For example, searching 'Gala Molt' will bring up 'Galarian Moltres V' because the app’s search is designed to handle partial or misspelled names.
My collection’s total value seems off—what should I do?
Make sure your cards have the correct condition and edition selected, as these affect market pricing. The app updates values in real time, so double-check that your internet connection is stable to get the latest prices.
How does Collectr compare to using a spreadsheet for tracking cards?
Unlike a spreadsheet, Collectr automatically pulls real-time market prices and lets you scan barcodes, so you don’t have to manually research or type in values. It also includes a wishlist with trade notifications, which a static spreadsheet can’t offer.
