This usually happens if you forgot to confirm the date after votes came in. Make sure you tap to finalize the event once enough people have voted—otherwise it stays as a pending proposal.

You can mute or leave the Space by going into its settings. If you just want fewer alerts, adjust the notification preferences for that specific Space, so you only get pinged for events or reminders you care about.
