Aveola: Random Live Video Chat
How do the interest tags work in Aveola?
You can add tags like 'tech' or 'music' to help match you with people who share your interests. When they work, you can have great conversations, like talking to a synth designer in Berlin, but the algorithm isn't consistent, so you'll still get plenty of random matches that ignore your tags.
Can I use Aveola without showing my face?
Yes, there's a text-chat-only mode that's perfect when you're not ready for video. It's a handy alternative that lets you still connect with strangers without being on camera.
Why does my microphone randomly mute during conversations?
This is a known bug that some users experience after a few months of use. If it happens, try closing and reopening the app or checking your phone's permissions, though a permanent fix may require an update from the developer.
What should I do if the video feed freezes or glitches?
The live filters often cause temporary freezes or glitches, so try turning them off first. If the issue persists, check your Wi-Fi connection, as video quality can be unreliable even on solid networks.
How does Aveola compare to Omegle or other random chat apps?
Aveola feels more modern with its prominent block and report button, which works instantly to handle bad encounters. However, it suffers from similar issues like inconsistent matching and bugs, whereas some competitors offer more reliable video quality and fewer glitches.
