Art of War: Legions

You set up your army formation before the fight, choosing which soldiers to place where and matching hero skills with the right troops. Once you hit go, the battle runs automatically, so you don't need to micromanage units during combat.

Heroes are unlocked through gameplay progression, such as completing campaign levels or participating in events. For example, the hero Ivan can be obtained early on and is very effective at shredding through front lines.

You may occasionally face opponents with much stronger troops, leading to quick losses. The game does try to match you with similar-level players after a few matches, so keep playing to get fairer opponents.

The pop-ups appear every time you open the app, but you can simply close them to continue playing. If you're not spending money, progress may slow after the first week, but you can still enjoy the game for free by focusing on campaign and events.

Unlike Clash Royale, Art of War: Legions focuses on pre-battle strategy with automatic combat, so you don't need to micromanage during fights. It also has faster battles and a more straightforward tutorial, but its in-app purchases are more aggressive.
