About Nextbots In Playground mod

I downloaded Nextbots In Playground mod on a whim, looking for something more creative than the usual shooters. What I found was this surprisingly deep sandbox where I could build my own obstacle courses and arenas, then populate them with those weird, meme-inspired Nextbots. It’s less of a traditional game and more of a digital toybox for making your own fun, which I ended up loving way more than I expected.

Features & Highlights

The core appeal here is the sheer amount of stuff you can play with. I spent my first hour just scrolling through the Nextbot gallery—there are dozens, from slow, shuffling ones to speedy terrors that had me laughing as they chased me. The building tools are simple but effective. I could lay down different floor textures like grass or concrete, plop down prefab buildings, and set up traps like spinning blades. My favorite thing to do was build a maze, fill it with a mix of Nextbots, and then try to navigate it with a friend. The multiplayer is where this game truly shines; hearing my buddy panic over voice chat when a horde corners him is pure comedy.

User Experience

Jumping in was straightforward. The controls are basic virtual joystick and buttons, which felt responsive when I was sprinting away from a group of Nextbots. I did have a moment where I got stuck on a piece of geometry I built, which was annoying. The graphics are simple and blocky, but it runs smoothly on my mid-range phone, which is a huge plus. The menu UI feels a bit cluttered, though. Sometimes I’d accidentally back out of the building menu when I meant to place an object. Once you’re in your playground, though, the chaos is incredibly fun. I created a “king of the hill” style map with friends that kept us entertained for an entire evening.

Pricing

The app is completely free to download and play. There are video ads, but they’re only between games or when you choose to watch one for a small reward, like unlocking a new cosmetic item for your character. I never felt forced to watch an ad to continue playing. There are some in-app purchases for special Nextbot skins and building materials, but I haven’t spent a dime and haven’t felt like I’m missing out on the core experience. For a free game, the amount of content and fun here is absolutely worth it.

Updates & Support

I’ve noticed an update every few weeks since I installed it. They usually add a couple of new Nextbots or a new building block type. It’s clear the developers are actively tinkering with it. I had one crash during a multiplayer session and emailed the support address listed in the app store. I got a generic “we’re looking into it” reply a day later, which was fine, but the issue was fixed in the next update. For a free game from a smaller developer, the support is about what I’d expect.

Security & Privacy

I got the app from the official Google Play Store. The app does show personalized ads, which suggests some data tracking is happening. The privacy policy, which I skimmed, mentions collecting gameplay data and device info for ads and analytics. It doesn’t ask for any sensitive permissions like contacts or location. If you’re concerned about ads, you can play in airplane mode, but you’ll lose the multiplayer functions. For me, the ad experience has been non-intrusive enough that it hasn’t been a problem.
